La semaine dernière, après une tripotée de billets sans mots, Thom Yorke a écrit sur Dead Air Space, le blog de Radiohead. Il y répète ce qu’il laissait entendre depuis quelque temps déjà :
« .. i think we ve always worked best when we arent bothered
about making mistakes.
theres a lot of baggage about the old way of doing things that is hard to get over…
all the ‘album’ crap..just this level of pressure that is ridiculous..
we’re just going to do what feels right at the time
quite intothe idea of singles at the moment(that dont get on the radio)
Et comme pour confirmer, une déclaration du groupe avec des majuscules au début des phrases, précisait avant-hier la chose :
« To keep things more fun and spontaneous, we will be playing new songs that are work in progress. We will also be releasing music to download when we are excited about it, rather than wait twelve months for a full blown album release. »
Oui, ça veut dire la même chose. Surveillez le site Radiohead, c’est sûrement là que vous trouverez leurs nouveaux morceaux. On aimerait juste qu’ils arrêtent de dire ça, et qu’ils nous en filent, des morceaux.
Sinon, bientôt, on pourra entendre Mogwai, Yo la Tengo, Belle and Sebastian et autres groupes aimés du label Matador sur… un jeu de BaseBall. Ça l’air con, mais c’est pour ça que c’est fun, nous dit le patron de la maison de disques : « ça redéfinit la notion même de musique de BaseBall« . Mouarf.
